Yes, I Fail At Updating

"Love is patient; love is kind; it does not envy; it does not boast; it is not proud. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking; it is not easily angered; it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

- 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13

Aaaaah, I am SO sorry. I keep forgetting to update.

There is so much going on in my life right now, and I am absolutely loving every minute! I'm currently enjoying a four day weekend because our teachers are at NDEA. And let me tell you, most of our students DEFINITELY needed a break. There are so many sick kids at our school right now that it's pretty ridiculous. Hopefully, everyone can get some extra rest this weekend and come back for a great start to th
e second quarter. =)

Last night, I went to Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant with my friend Nick and it was amazing! I'm really into the books, so I was super excited when I found out they were making movies for the series. The first half of the movie was really close to the books, but after the first hour things started changing. Overall, however, I thought it was VERY good.

Tonight, I'll be going to Paranormal Activitiy with a whole bunch of friends. It should be a good time, though I hope the movie won't be TOO scary. I've heard stories about people not being able to sleep for like a week after they watch it. Yikes!

On Saturday, I have the ACT in the morni
ng and then right after that, I'll be watching our football team in the first round of the playoffs. We're playing Hillsboro and I'm hoping we get the W!

The weather is definitely getting colder around here, but I guess that is to be expected since it's North Dakota. But it's still a little depressing. The one good thing about winter, though, is the fact that I get to start wearing all the cute sweaters I've gotten from Torrid!

Is anyone dressing up for Halloween out there? I think I'll be spending my Halloween with a few close friends watching scary movies and handing out candy to the little ones. I just love Halloween...I'm a big fan of scary movies and ghosts and stuff so I get excited every year.

But anyways...I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Love,
Katie Ella

Our LAST Homecoming. Plus Torrid party!

"We must be the change we wish to see." - Ghandi

Oh, my gosh ladies! I am so sorry for not keeping up with my updates. September and October are the busiest months for me, usually involving recruitment for the different clubs I'm in, plus fund raising for those clubs! Oh, man...it's so much fun, but so much work as well!

Since my last blog, we've had our homecoming week at school. It was so fun! My favorite dress-up day was Senior Nerd Day. My friends & I went all out this year...

Haha! I always take waaay too many pictures during homecoming week. The first one is, obviously, nerd day. That's Michelle, Sam, & I. The second is the night of Coronation. It was totally awesome to be chosen as a princess for our school. I really love Thompson and am all about school spirit and it was nice to be recognized for that. =) The third is most of our class on color day...can you guess what color we had? =P The fourth picture is of me and one of my BEST friends Nikki on homecoming night. The fifth is of me & Steve...he's seriously, the most random, funny guy you will ever meet. And the last is of me, Sam, and Maggie right before we took the floor with "our princes" to lead the first dance.

This year, I seriously couldn't have had a better homecoming week. It was so sad just realizing that this was the last time I'd be able to do all these goofy things with the classmates that I love so dearly. But we clearly made the most of it. =)

Now, before all of this happened, I got to visit the Torrid store at the Mall of America! I had an absolute BLAST. The entire staff was just so helpful and nice, I honestly couldn't have had a better experience. I tried on so many different outfits and ended up buying my homecoming dress, three shirts, and a denim mini skirt. It was definitely a worth-while shopping trip. They also had cake, juice, and a HUGE poster with my picture on it. It was so weird to see my face on something like that. lol. I absolutely loved it.

With all of these activities, school has just been flying by! I mean, it's already October. Wow! I'm having a great time and I like relatively all of my classes this year. I'm also keeping extra busy with all of my extracurriculars this year...I've been elected co-president of National Honor Society as well as president of our class and I'm loving every minute of it. Elections are being held for FCCLA officers this week, so wish me luck! =)

But anways, speaking of FCCLA...I've actually gotta get back up to the school to baby sit. Every year, we set up a place for elementary students to go while their parents attend teacher conferences. We get to color all night and just have fun. I'm seriously still a kid at heart. =P I'll catch up with everyone next week!

Loveee,
Katie

Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited but imagination circles the world.” - Albert Einstein

Hey ladies!

Wow, let me just start out by saying that senior year is proving to be my hardest year yet. I swear, I come home with a bunch of homework nearly every night. It's crazy!

A lot has happened throughout the first three weeks of school. I've been elected co-president of our chapter of National Honor Society and I was also voted into homecoming royalty. There are four of us out of the whole senior class that are represe

nting our class as princesses, and by next Monday, we'll find out who becomes the actual homecoming queen. So wish me luck! =)

Our football team has been kicking butt this year! Ou

r record so far is 3-0 and we've won each game by huge margins. I'm so excited to see if we'll make it to state this year! Our volleyball team has been doing really well also...they're 2-1. Overall, we're off to a great start!

I've been getting so many compliments on my outfits as of late. It feels great to be acknowledged for the time and effort I put into looking good. Without Torrid, this would be nearly impossible though!

Last, but not least, I am SO excited for the congratulatory party that Torrid is throwing for me this Saturday at the Mall of America. I hope to see a bunch of you at the event. We can totally shop together!

It's autumn already?!?

"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. "

Hola, chicas!

I am so sorry that I didn't update last week! I somehow lost the link to my own blog. Haha!

Since my last post, I've actually already started my senior year of high school! =) And to tell you the truth, the myth of senior year being super easy is totally NOT TRUE! I've had so much homework this first week that it's almost unreal. But, to be honest, I'm kind of thankful that our teachers aren't going easy on us this year. That way, next year won't be such a huge shock! =)

I had an absolutely amazing summer this year. Meeting the Jonas Brothers, going to a Demi Lovato concert, and just staying out late and hanging with my friends made it the best summer yet. My summer wardrobe for Torrid kept me lookin' cute, of course! And remember, a lot of the items that were debuted at the beginning of summer are now clearance items. So stock up now and save on your clothes for next summer!

But summer is now fading, with the nights becoming colder and longer. But you know what that means! FOOTBALL! Friday night lights and all that jazz. =D I couldn't even express to you how excited I am. I plan to attend all of the football games this year with a few of my friends to cheer on our senior boys and the rest of the team! So to keep warm on those frosty Friday nights, my fall wardrobe is shaping up to be full of long sleeve shirts, zip-up hoodies, and lots of sweaters!

But whatever your plans are for this fall, be sure that you dress to impress by shopping all of Torrid's new collections. My personal favorite is the new Mod Times collection. Gotta love it! =)

Remember to check in with me next week. I promise that I WILL be on time ;D

Demi & HAIR!

"You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try."

Hey girlies! I'm a day late! Whoopsies. =P This past week has been incredibly awesome. I saw Demi Lovato live in concert at the Target Center in Minneapolis. She is truly an inspiration. The concert was unbelieveably good and she put her whole heart and soul into it. =) I'm so glad I got the chance to go!

I also ordered a bunch of new things from the online Torrid store. I got everything in the mail the other day and I'm so pumped! I got this super cute plaid tee-shirt dress and a Hannah Montana tee-shirt, among other things. I'm so excited to wear everything to school!

Also, last night I saw a production of the 60's play HAIR put on by the community theater in Grand Forks. One of my friends was actually in the play and it was absolutely amazing! I just love theater. =)

But I think that will be all for today...a short blog for once. Haha. I'll see everyone next week!

Back to school....WHAT?!?

"Girls who have a strong belief system are beautiful in a great way." - Kevin Jonas

Hey divas!

Ummm, say what?!? It's already time to get ready for back to school? Where did the summer go?! This is crazy. I have exactly 19 days until I start my senior year of high school. That's so weird to say...haha.

I dunno about you, but the best part about back to school for me is shopping! Normally, I act like a total nerd by writing a checklist of what I'll need most. But before doing that, I have to clean out my closet. And omgosh, let me tell you...I did that a couple of weeks ago and I literally filled six trashbags with old clothes and shoes to give to the Salvation Army. My advice to you is to definitely do that...there are people who would love to wear the clothes that you no longer have room for, especially during this time of economic hardship. =)

And now...time for my checklist!

1. Jeans!

2. Graphic Tees

3. Other Tops

4. Shoes!

I could go on and on, of course. But this is my main focus for back-to school shopping. I'm ready to have an amazing, very fashionable year thanks to Torrid! Talk to you next week. =D

Wassup

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
- Eleanor Roosevelt

Hey, hey, it's Wednesday!

Riiight...that was kinda weird. =P Anyways, how's it goin' divas? My day has been on the bad side...I'm sick. =( So if this blog doesn't make complete sense, blame it on the fact that I didn't get any sleep last night. It seems like every summer I get really sick for a few days and then the rest of the summer, I'm nice & healthy. It's quite weird.

Anyways! Today is all about accessories. Who doesn't love accessorizing? Personally, I don't think an outfit is an outfit without adding a cute belt or some gorgeous earrings. First up on my must-have list for summer accessories...a cinching belt!I bought this belt while in Minneapolis about a month ago and, honestly, it's probably my most-used accessory. When I decide to wear a cute summer dress, I throw on this to add a little flair. At $20, it is a little more pricey for an accessory, but totally worth it!

Next up...a great pair of sunglasses of course! These are so adorable! I love the retro feel of the frames and the gradual purple tinting on the lenses. Defininitely a must-have. =)

And lastly, I don't know if these really count as an accessory, but leggings are seriously a total must-have this year. I know what you may be thinking...didn't leggings go out of fashion like two years ago? Well, they're back! People are getting more daring and deciding to wear leggings with a shirt instead of under a skirt or dress.

This is just your standard pair of full-length leggings. They're available on torrid.com for $20. =)

Alrighty then. I guess that's all for today. It was great catching up with you and I can't wait to post another blog for you next week! But before I go, I wanted to let everyone know that I got a hair cut!I decided to go with some blunt, straight-across bangs. Thoughts?? Ignore my smile in this picture...it's totally fake or something. Hah!

Well, until next week! Goodnight...and good luck. (wow, I'm a nerd)
