Back to the Future

"God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me." - Author Unknown

Well, hello again! This is my first post of 2010: the year of my graduation, 18th birthday, and my entrance into college. Crazy! So far, I've been accepted to every school I've applied to that has gone through their applications. The University of Minnesota and Northwestern University have yet to contact me with an admission decision, but I'll let you know eventually! I'll most likely be attending North Dakota State University in Fargo for at least the first two years of my education. Then, once it becomes more cost effective, I hope to move on to either Minneapolis, MN or Chicago, IL.

Have I ever mentioned that my dream career field is that of the English language? I've been fascinated by it since I was a tiny tot and I feel that my calling is to teach. Hopefully, I'll be right about that. :) I'd love to teach English in another country as a second language...that would definitely be an adventure. What are all of your hopes and dreams?

Oh my gosh. Speaking of hopes and dreams...this past Monday, my parents nearly shocked the life out of me by buying me a brand new car! It is so beautiful. I haven't named it yet but it's a cobalt blue Toyota Corolla with a V6 engine. Six disc CD player, auxiliary connector for an iPod, gray interior and, most importantly, a working heater! Aaaaaaah, I'm so excited that I can't even contain it!

Aah, it's so beautiful! Haha. Before I go, I better update you on the boys basketball season. We are still undefeated! Woo! My boys are definitely making me proud. :)

And now, I should probably wrap this up cause I have my last final test to study for which takes place at 8:30 tomorrow morning. Wish me luck! Until next time :)

Chesnuts....roasting on an open fire!

"Such is the inconsistency of real love, that is always awake to suspicion, however unreasonable; always requiring new assurances from the object of its interest." - Ann Radcliffe

Why hello lovelies!

It is that time again...time for a new update from meeee. I know, you were all waiting on the edge of your chairs in anticipation, right?? :P

School is seriously almost out for Christmas break. I'm literally so pumped; however, there is one downside: my brain has stopped working. And if you'd like to know the truth...I couldn't care less. Full-blown case of senior-itis for sure!

Since my last post, the boys basketball season started and yours truly is gonna be doing stats. :) It's been a lot of fun so far because I get to watch some truly talented guys wipe the floor with our opponents (your welcome :]) I'm also doing stats with one of my best guy friends, Adam, and two other girls named Taylor and Jacinda. We have a preeeeetty awesome time. Haha

We also had our annual Christmas concert on Monday. I'll post pictures below. :)

Basically, we sang/played a bunch of cute Christmas songs and we also got to dress up in sexy clothes. :) I wore a cute new dress I'd bought from Torrid with leggings and ankle boots. 'Twas very fun!

But now, I think this blog post will have to come to an end...my bed is calling my name and amazing dreams and sleep await me. Bahaha, I'm such a nerd.

WINTER!

The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one.

- Elbert Hubbard

Winter is upon us, as proven by the fresh blanket of snow I awoke to this morning. I will admit that we were quite lucky to escape cold temperatures, sleet, and snow all through the month of November; however, now Mother Nature is paying us back in full. :(

There is one good thing about winter though: Christmas break is in our sights! I can honestly tell you that the only thing getting me out of bed in the morning is the prospect of those three school-free weeks ahead of us. Has anyone done any of their Christmas shopping yet? It's hard to believe, but the greatest holiday of the year is just around the corner. Thankfully, I got most of my Christmas shopping done early so I won't have to worry about that. :)

I think I'll end this post early tonight...I haven't been feeling very well today so I'll probably just lie around, watch TV and head to bed early. Have a great week!

PS You should definitely purchase John Mayer's new CD Battle Studies. Honestly, it's one of the best music purchases I've made this year. I'm seeing him in April and I can hardly wait!

"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough."

- Oprah Winfrey

Don't forget to shop Torrid's Black Friday sale tomorrow. It's a great deal, as you get $25 off every $75 you spend. I dunno about you guys, but I've already planned what to get! =)

The sale is both in-store and online. The online sale starts at midnight tonight (pacific time) and the in-store sale starts when your local Torrid opens and will be effective until close.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gobble, gobble!
